Kids: This month's shoutout goes to Luke Jackson who has impressed class instructor Ryan since his return. They have been giving it all in training, always passionate about learning, improving in every single session as well as learning well from mistakes. His kata is now effortless, his confidence in sparring is on the rise and his technical ability is sharp. Keep up the hard work, your next grading will be a test, but we are confident in your ability and so you should be. A massive well done to Luke Jackson.

Adults: New member Jack Halloran has joined the EKA jumping into as many classes as possible, and training at least 3 times a week. Having a background in breakdancing as a young lad has helped his kickboxing as he is springy, powerful and understands how the body moves. He has impressed us with many flips and tricks, but this isn’t a reflection on his kickboxing ability…his kicks are fast and fierce, and no one would like to be on the receiving end of them. His combinations are beginning to piece together and flow, his sparring is looking more controlled, and he is a great example of the more you train, the better you are. Great effort, keep it up.

EKA Challenge: Last month’s Explosive Circuit went off with a bang (pun intended) and it was Damian Kiss who took the top spot, really good work! Moving into December, a new challenge must be tried and tested. As it is the month of Christmas, let’s do another themed challenge!

This month is going to be a little different as the challenge is only going to run from the 1st of the month to the 12th. Why? Well, it’s the 12 days of Christmas challenge! Each day will be a different exercise and the time it takes you to do that exercise will be added up you will be given a total time at the end of the challenge; the quickest time is the winner!

Our Teemill store is now up and running. For those that remember a few newsletters back, we started to put an online store into the works for selling our club uniform and a few extras.

Along with club attire, we also have a few snazzy designs and casual wear to choose from.

Over time we hope to expand this service and include even more designs and styles.

The team recently went to the World’s Strongest Nation event over the last weekend in November. Set at the M&S Arena in Liverpool, the evening was a blast and saw 8 competitors from the UK and US battle out for the title.

What amazed the guys was the two teams were a mix of both women and men in the same tests of strength. Most notable, was American Gabi Dixon getting 2nd place in the Hercules hold behind the might of Mark Felix the current record holder of that event.

The lads then went to enjoy the night life of Liverpool – another story for another time.

Another event has been organised for the kids and adults of the EKA. First, the children will be enjoying another trip to Jump inc. (grown-ups allowed too) with the adults meeting later in the evening for a few beverages and sophisticated chats on topical events…pfft yeah right!

The events will be held on December 10th, with the trampling happening at 16:00. Please speak with an instructor for more information or to book on.

The adult’s evening will start at 19:00, once again at Roxy Ball Room as we did in September. We haven’t booked any activities such as pool and beer pong but plan to organise something on the night like last time.

We hope many can join us for the final event for 2022 and enjoy the festive gathering.
